Sam Russell’s® Pool House features a heated, indoor saltwater pool for our furry clients! Our aquatic center is designed to offer a welcoming and enriching experience where your dog can learn to swim, get in shape, splash around with friends, or enjoy a relaxing assisted swim with an experienced swim coach. Our 10′ by 26′ pool is sanitized with ozone, making it gentle on your canine companion’s skin, coat, and eyes.

Rules & Safety

Sam Russell’s® Pet Provisions is not a licensed veterinary facility. We do not diagnose or cure specific ailments, perform surgery, or prescribe medications. Swimming is not a replacement for proper vet care and any injuries or diseases must be medically diagnosed and treated by a licensed vet.

• If under vet care for injury or surgery, a vet release is required to swim.
• Dogs must be kept on leash when entering or exiting the Pool House.
• Do not feed your dog within 1-2 hours of their swim.
• Dogs must relieve themselves prior to swimming.
• No topical flea products should be applied less than 5 days prior to swim.

Vaccinations Required

Proof of current vaccinations must be provided by a licensed veterinarian.

• Canine DHPP and Rabies 1- or 3-year vaccine, Flu 1-year vaccine, Bordetella 6-months or 1-year vaccine
• Feline FVRCP and Rabies 1- or 3-year vaccine
• If pet is swimming alone, only a Rabies 1- or 3-year vaccine is required.

Our Private Dry Room equipped with dryer and towels for human owners to dry their pets after a swim session. If a Stella Ray Swim Assistant needs to dry your pet, there is a $10 charge for small dogs and short-hair large dogs and $15 charge for large dogs with long hair.

DIANE SHOFFNER
Human Owner & Founder, Sam Russell's® Pet Provisions

Diane left a 30-year management career in retail to devote her time in developing a world-class pet facility that offers the finest quality specialty products and services. Sam Russell’s® Pool House is the next step in offering the best in pet care needs!

She is a graduate of La Paw Spa Aquatic Training (Levels 1 and 2), member of the Association of Canine Water Therapy, and is certified by the American Red Cross in Canine CPR and First Aid.

Diane has been trained in the safe practices of canine swimming, including:

• How to get a dog in and out of the pool safely.
• How to assist and monitor swimming.
• How to hold and support a dog in the water.
• How to do stretches in water to assist blood flow and relaxation.

STEPHANIE HIGHLEY-JONES
Swim & Fitness Coach, Sam Russell's® Pet Provisions

Stephanie found her love for working with small animals when she took a job as a vet tech in Missouri. Although she graduated with a BS in Education at the University of Central Missouri, she followed her passion and has been a practicing veterinary tech since 2002.

In 2010, Stephanie moved to Elizabethtown and worked for Helmwood Veterinary Clinic. Her role as a surgical technician provided her with further insight into the workings of the canine body.

Stephanie joined the Sam Russell’s team in 2016 as our Swim and Fitness Coach.  She has developed a reputation of caring and motivation for her swim clients.  She will put together an individual fitness plan that best suits the needs of your fur baby.
