Paws Shelter Foundation Inc. created to fund new Hardin County Animal Shelter

Elizabethtown will soon be welcoming a new Hardin County Animal Shelter. The old shelter was donated to the county in 1956, by Jan and Bill Schmidt. It was a wonderful blessing at that time, but has become an outdated facility that is not adoption friendly.

A foundation, PAWS Shelter Foundation, Inc., has been created to fund a new improved facility. A building located at 220 Peterson Drive, Elizabethtown, Kentucky has been purchased. Designs are in works to make this a state of the art animal shelter serving all of Hardin County. Our goal is to raise a $1M to finance the renovation. Your support is needed to do this. We are a not-for-profit 501C3 organization (Tax ID # 45-243-1905) which makes the value of your donation tax deductable.

Donations can be made on the Paws Shelter Foundation web site.

I saw a puppy dog of Facebook that reminds me so much of my dog that I lost after 17 wonderful years. Didn’t have any information but looks like a Lhasa Apso, beige/blond. How can I get to your site to view the animals that available for adoption? Thanks!

Sorry I have not responded earlier. We are a boarding facility and do not have dogs for adoption. Occassionally I post dogs of dogs that are looking for a new home. But most of the pictures I post are of dogs that are staying with us. You can go on our web site and where it says adopt dogs, click on that link and it will take you to pet finders.
