Sam Russell was born in June of 2006.  We are told he was found by the side of a road in Washington County, Arkansas when he was about 2 months old.  Lucky for him the Fayetteville Animal Shelter picked him up and provided him his first home.

Judy and I adopted him on October 14th.  We knew at first site he was the one.  Just a young puppy, he tried so hard to impress both of us, running back and forth between the two of us, jumping and playing like he was the happiest dog.  After we were approved to be his parents, we took Sam Russell home to start a long life journey.

We have always been curious about what breeds make up Sam Russell.  The vets say he is a mixed terrier.  Looking at his face you can see the schnauzer in him.  But what other great breeds are in his mix and personality.

Today we took his DNA.  It was so easy, just a swab of the cheek.  Send it off and in two weeks we will know.  Stay tuned for the results.
