Sept 24 is Pet Palooza Weekend in Hardin County

September 24 will be the kick off of our Pet Pallooza fundraising weekend.  The first annual Mutt Strut, a 2K walk with your pet, will be held at ECTC.  Registration begins at 8:00 AM; Strut starts at 9:00.  There will be lots of other fun too; contests, pet friendly booths, food, and dogs for adoption. Other events in Elizabethtown that weekend will be a Bucket Brigade collecting donations on Dixie and Mulberry, and a Restaurant Night donating a percentage of their sales to the animal shelter.

$20 to pre-register for the Mutt Strut on the Paws Shelter Foundation web site, www.pawsdonations.org or $25 at the event.  Check out web site for more details.

Paws Shelter Foundation Inc. created to fund new Hardin County Animal Shelter

Elizabethtown will soon be welcoming a new Hardin County Animal Shelter. The old shelter was donated to the county in 1956, by Jan and Bill Schmidt. It was a wonderful blessing at that time, but has become an outdated facility that is not adoption friendly.

A foundation, PAWS Shelter Foundation, Inc., has been created to fund a new improved facility. A building located at 220 Peterson Drive, Elizabethtown, Kentucky has been purchased. Designs are in works to make this a state of the art animal shelter serving all of Hardin County. Our goal is to raise a $1M to finance the renovation. Your support is needed to do this. We are a not-for-profit 501C3 organization (Tax ID # 45-243-1905) which makes the value of your donation tax deductable.

Donations can be made on the Paws Shelter Foundation web site. www.pawsdonations.org

Sam Russell welcomes a new sister, Stella Rae

Stella Rae joined the Sam Russell family on May 11, 2011.  She was adopted from the Hardin County Animal Shelter.  The vet estimates that she is around 9 months old.  She loves coming to SRPP and playing with all the dogs.  Stella Rae has already won our hearts over and realizes that she landed in a perfect place.  Come in and meet her.
